ALEXANDRIA, VA (September 3, 2025) The Language Connects Foundation (LCF), the charitable affiliate of ACTFL, welcomes Gene Thomas to its Board of Directors. In his 25-year career with Freeman, a global leader in event management, Thomas has become a strategist across multiple business sectors, including education, and works closely with the ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo. He joins a board of passionate champions of the transformative power of language learning and of the educators who make it possible.
LCF Board members provide strategic direction, governance, and oversight, and serve as ambassadors and advocates for the organization’s mission, making connections within their respective networks to help secure financial support for ACTFL programs and initiatives, including scholarships for future language teachers, and stipends that support educator attendance at the ACTFL Convention.
